Fresh from their courageous draw against Canada on Wednesday last
in their opening game of the semi-final round of their World Cup
Qualifiers, the Reggae Boyz, the local part of the band, will
return to camp for rehearsals on Monday August 25, ahead of their
September 6, Mexico date.
Goalkeeper Dwayne Kerr, who last
played for the country on March 26 in a friendly at the National
Stadium, earns a recall to the squad of 24 while Dwayne Holmes of
St Georges will train with the squad for the first time. Another
player making a return to the squad is Reno’s central midfielder
Nicholy Findlayson. Findlayson last played for the country on the
tour of Brazil which ended in March.
As was the case the last time a
local squad was called, a number of Under-20 have found favour.
They are Davion Thorpe (Reno), Andre Darby (Naggo Head), Levaughn
Williams (Sporting Central) , Keithy Simpson (Cavaliers), Andre
Campbell (Portmore), Andre Clennon (Waterhouse), Alanzo Adlam
(Cavaliers) and Romario Campbell of Harbour View.
No senior Harbour View players
were invited to the squad as they are preparing for an important
engagement against the Mexican club, Pumas, on Thursday August 28.
